Spreadable “Sirop de Liège” – Original flavour
Because we still love it !
In the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (Belgium, Germany, Netherlands) there is an ancestral tradition of transforming fruits (pears and apples) and beets into syrups: a way of preserving fruits or beets to consume them throughout the year.
Because we still love it !
In 1902, great-grandfather Clément Meurens left the family farm to embark on the industrial production of spreadable syrups.
In 1937, grandfather Clément drew inspiration from the highly popular fruit preserves of the time to create the recipe for Pear Syrup from the Land of Liège. The fame of his brand is such that “SIROP DE LIÈGE” has become a generic name and an essential product on toast since the baby boomers.
Martine Meurens offers the original recipe of “SIROP DE LIÈGE“, made from pears and apples, sweetened with beet sugar.
